Lexmark Range Brochure 2024

Lexmark Security Trusted Platform Module (TPM) The Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is a piece of security hardware often found in laptops and mobile phones. It is standard on Lexmark devices announced in 2022 and 2023, and in enterprise products going forward. TPM provides a more secure experience by storing hard drive encryption keys on a separate piece of hardware securely. It can also help make encryption stronger through better random number generation and in the future will help to securely identify printers to the Lexmark cloud and other applications. TPM provides on-board authentication, system integrity checks and cryptographic capabilities that create a unique digital system fingerprint. It is designed to strengthen a Lexmark device’s ability to secure information whether it is stored in the device or transmitting critical information to or from a device. The main purpose of this component is to provide improved capabilities to secure the cryptographic keys that are generated by the device and provide more complex methods to generate random numbers which are used to create cryptographic keys. TPM will immediately satisfy many corporations or government agencies that need to have certifications around the device’s cryptography. Benefits include: › Stronger random number generation › Secure key store for certificates and encryption keys › Hard disk encryption key protection TPMmeetsthestringent industryandUSgovernment security standards, including Common Criteria and Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS PUB 140-2 validations). 98
